Symmetric PEPS — from topological Z_2 RVB state to SU(3) chiral spin liquid on square lattice

08.11.2019 at 09:00

Abstract: Quantum spin liquid state can be faithfully represented and efficiently characterized within the symmetric Projected Entangled Pair State (PEPS) framework. A prototypical example with SU(2) spin-1/2 on every lattice site is the nearest neighbor resonating valence bond (RVB) state, which has been thoroughly studied on various lattices with PEPS. Here I will show, through suitable deformation of the local tensor of NN RVB state on square lattice, we can introduce longer range singlets into the wave function and drive the state into a topological Z_2 phase. This approach turns out to be very general. And I will also present our recent results about SU(3) chiral spin liquid using this approach.
