TI: Green’s function and TDDFT treatments of lattice models out of equilibrium

We use non-equilibrium Green's functions (NEGF) and time-dependent density-functional theory (TDDFT) to describe the real-time dynamics of correlated lattice models systems away from equilibrium. The cases we consider are charge transport in short disordered chains, the expansion dynamics of fermion clouds in 3D disordered optical lattices, and desorption dynamics at surfaces. The scopes of a perturbative treatment of correlations within NEGF and of adiabatic approximations in TDDFT are examined, also within a modified scheme that combines nonperturbative DFT exchange-correlation potentials with self-energies of many-body perturbation theory. Some results from ongoing work are also presented.
