2024 Arnold Sommerfeld School
Modeling strongly correlated electrons: Numerics, analytics, and quantum simulations
16.09.2024 – 20.09.2024
The Arnold Sommerfeld Center for Theoretical Physics at the LMU in Munich will host a school on “Modeling strongly correlated electrons: Numerics, analytics, and quantum simulations” in the period September 16-20, 2024.
The school is primarily aimed at PhD and advanced master students, but more senior researchers are very welcome to apply as well. It will cover introductory lectures on state-of-the-art numerical methods and quantum simulation of strongly correlated electrons, their effective analytical descriptions, as well as more advanced topics covering recent developments in this field.

Application
Please apply before August 4, 2024. In case of high demand we might have to limit the number of participants. After you apply we will try to get back to you within 3 weeks. There is no fee but you will have to arrange your trip and accommodation yourself. You can find a list of hostels and hotels close to the ASC here. Note that the school takes place just before the Oktoberfest and, thus, hotel prices will increase enormously starting from the night after the school. The lectures will begin on Monday at 9am and end on Friday around 12.30pm.
