2016 Arnold Sommerfeld School
Quantum Many-Body Physics far from Equilibrium
12.09.2016 – 16.09.2016
The Arnold Sommerfeld Center for Theoretical Physics will host a graduate school on ''Quantum Many-Body Physics far from Equilibrium'' in the period September 12-16, 2016. It accounts for the increasing importance of non-equilibrium quantum physics in different areas of physics. It covers topics like ergodicity, many-body localization, non-equilibrium aspects of ultracold atoms and cosmology, quantum quenches and non-equilibrium physics using the gauge/gravity correspondence.
Lecturers
- Dmitry Abanin (Geneva University): Entanglement, thermalization, and many-body localization [Videos]
- Jürgen Berges (Heidelberg University): Far-from-equilibrium quantum fields: From ultracold atoms to cosmology [Videos]
- Pasquale Calabrese (SISSA Trieste): Entanglement entropy following a quantum quench [Videos (last 10 minutes of first lecture missing due to technical problems)]
- Mukund Rangamani (UC Davis): Non-equilibrium dynamics & Holography [Videos (last 20 minutes of last lecture missing due to technical problems)]
Organizers
Michael Haack, Matthias Punk and Wilhelm Zwerger
