(12.02.) Ambitwistor String Theory

Arthur Lipstein (Oxford U.)

12.02.2015 at 16:15

In this talk, I will describe ambitwistor strings, a family of chiral string theories which provide a natural generalization of the twistor-strings of Witten, Berkovits and Skinner to arbitrary dimensions. In general dimensions, their correlators give rise to the formulae for gravity and Yang-Mills amplitudes recently discovered by Cachazo, He and Yuan. In four dimensions, they give rise to new formulae for gravity and Yang-Mills amplitudes with any amount of supersymmetry. Ambitwsitor string theory also provides new insight into soft theorems for scattering amplitudes and their relationship to asymptotic symmetries.
