Old and new results for BPS amplitudes in string theory

I shall reconsider BPS-saturated amplitudes in heterotic string theory by using our recently proposed method for computing modular integrals. I shall show how these amplitudes can be naturally expressed in terms of generalised holomorphic prepotentials whose (inhomogeneous) modular properties are now completely under control and calculable. I shall finally apply our techniques to vacua with spontaneous partial supersymmetry breaking, and will present new results for gauge and gravitational thresholds and discuss new Borcherd's product formulae.
