I will review recent progress in computing D-brane invariants using mirror symmetry on (compact) Calabi-Yau manifolds. Results on the superpotential shed some light on the quantum geometry of N=1 theories. The calcualtion of loop amplitudes requires a topological version of tadpole cancellation, and allows reconnecting with various previous works, such as the topological vertex.
