D-brane inflation in stringy theory

I will review some recent progress in building an explicit model of
stringy inflation based on a KKLMMT setup i.e. a dynamical D3
brane placed on a warped throat geometry. In this case the
gauge/gravity duality provides a way to calculate an explicit potential
for the inflaton and estimate the effects of compactification.
