von Delft Group - Theoretical Solid State Physics

Welcome to the research group of Prof. Jan von Delft at LMU Munich. We investigate strongly correlated quantum systems, where interactions between electrons lead to extraordinary phenomena—from unconventional superconductivity and quantum criticality to exotic spin liquids and non-Fermi-liquid behavior.
Our Methods

Tensor network algorithms (DMRG, MPS, PEPS)
Functional renormalization group (fRG)
Numerical renormalization group (NRG)
Quantum field theory (real-frequency, Keldysh formalism)
Tensor Cross Interpolation (TCI)

Research Applications

Hund metals and heavy-fermion compounds
Quantum spin liquids and frustrated magnetism
Quantum impurity models and Kondo physics
Strange metal behavior and quantum criticality
