Radiation reaction in classical electrodynamics
Derivation of new differential-delay equations of motion for the old problem of radiation reaction
19.01.2019
In the paper the problem of radiation reaction in classical electrodynamics is revisited. Dirac's original approach leads to a range of problems. Our approach does not assume the existence of point-like particles. Instead we postulate hypertubes in space-time. This leads us to equations of motion that are differential-delay equations and to the concept of emergent inertia. The paper might have relevance for code engineers since the equations of motion derived seem to be void of unphysical solutions and promise to be a valid replacement for LAD.
