(16.01.) High-scale supersymmetry and intersecting D-brane models

Wilfried Buchmüller (DESY)

16.01.2020 at 16:15

After a motivation for high-scale supersymmetry we discuss an intersecting D-brane model and its T-dual magnetic compactification with chiral fermions and broken supersymmetry. We find that, contrary to common belief, Wilson lines cannot be used to uplift tachyonic scalar masses. After tachyon condensation, the fermion spectrum is vector-like. Finally, we briefly comment on the challenge to reconcile supersymmetry breaking, a chiral fermion spectrum and vacuum stability.
