(15.11.) Is de Sitter impossible in String Theory?

I will first discuss, in pedagogical and broad terms, how string theorist go about to construct meta-stable dS vacua. Then I overview the various potential problems with those constructions and speculate on why it is not unreasonable to think that dS solutions are impossible, they are in the so-called Swampland. Particular emphasis will be given to anti-brane uplifting and I will argue why anti-branes seem to give rise to meta-stable states in a holographic set-up, but might fail to give dS space after compactification of extra dimensions.
