(21.06.) Riemann-Hilbert approach to Einstein Gravity

Based on early work by Breitenlohner and Maison, we construct an operational technique to find new solutions of Einstein's equations in 4D, based on a dimensional reduction to 2D, resulting in a non-linear integrable sigma model. The resulting non-linear equations can be solved by performing a canonical factorization of a matrix defined on the complex plane of the spectral parameter of the integrable system.
