Possible spin liquid state in the triangular Heisenberg model

Gapped quantum spin liquids are a distinct phase of matter, characterized by topology, and exhibit fractionalized exitations. The theory of these topological states has been mostly developed using artificial models (such as the Toric Code) that are unlike ly candidates for describing real materials. Hence there is a need for realistic model Hamiltonians (such as spin models with pair-wise interactions) that exhibit topological order, that can inform the search for new materials.
In this talk I will describe our progress in characterizing a possible spin liquid state in the next - nearest-neighbor spin-1/s Heisenberg model on a triangular lattice, using Matrix Produt State methods for finite and infinite cylinders.
