Strong Correlations at the Nanoscale: non-fermi liquid physics in quantum dots

Quantum dot devices allow precise control and manipulation of electron correlations on the nanoscale. The subtle interplay between spin andorbital effects with Kondo physics can lead to quantum phasetransitions controlled by non-Fermi liquid critical points. I will discuss a range of two-lead systems which exhibit unusual two-channel Kondocritical physics, and calculate exact conductance lineshapes expected from experiment.
