Black Holes: From Astrophysics to the Large Hadron Collider

Professor Xavier Calmet, University of Sussex, United Kingdom

18.01.2017 at 16:15

In this overview talk I will review recent progress in our understanding of quantum gravity within the framework of effective field theory. After describing the bounds obtained using this model independent approach, I will describe applications to model building in inflation (in particular Higgs/Starobinsky inflation), gravitational waves and black holes.
