Quantum Spin Liquids:from theory to numerical simulations

The School is hosted by SISSA and DEMOCRITOS. These institutions are major players in the field of numerical simulations of material properties with a 25-year tradition of methodological innovation and high-quality software development.
The principal aim of the school is to present both theoretical approaches, essentially based upon lattice gauge theories, and numerical simulations, based upon recently developed many-body techniques. The main part of the school is centered on numerical methods; a couple of theoretical courses is necessary in order to give the proper background and definitions. Participants will appreciate the tight connection between numerical simulations and analytical tools.
The school is addressed to Ph.D. students and young researchers, who are beginning to work or are already working in the field of strongly-correlated systems and highly-frustrated magnets. At the end of the school, participants should have acquired a very good knowledge on advanced theoretical concepts, together with a broad overview of state-of-the-art numerical methods that are capable of dealing with such complex systems.
