(26.01.) A Stringy Appreciation of Inflationary Axions

Wieland Staessens (Madrid)

26.01.2017 at 16:15

Their characteristic features make axions popular candidates for realisations of large field inflationary models. In combination with their abundant emergence from string theory compactifications, one might hope to construct a fully consistent model for large field inflation in a UV complete theory. In this talk we touch upon two distinct avenues: axion monodromy and axion mixing scenarios, and discuss their perks and peeves.
