I am not interested, but forward the application to you in case any of you are. (Note: being Chinese, he would not be eligible for funding from the RTN network). If you are not interested either, simply ignore the application. Else, please get in touch with him directly. Jan von Delft ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 2 Sep 2002 18:29:09 +0900 From: Pin Lyu To: vondelft@theorie.physik.uni-muenchen.de Subject: application for postdoc Dear Professor von Delft, I am a Chinese, and I am writing to you to explore the possibility of the application for a postdoc position with you. My research interest is theoretical aspect of spintronics. I obtained my PhD degree in theoretical physics from Nanjing University in China in June 1999. In that period, we proposed the spin-polarized tunneling model for the tunneling magnetoresistance and its temperature dependence in the manganite tunnel junctions and in the polycrystalline manganites. After my PhD graduation, I have spent near two years on postdoc research at the Department of Physics, Yonsei University at Seoul in South Korea, and I will finish the work at Korea soon. Recent two years I focus on the spin-dependent phenomena in the ferromagnetic semiconductors (Ga,Mn)As and their quantum structures. My main publications are as follows: 1. P. Lyu et al, Tunneling Magnetoresistance in Mixed-Valence Manganite Tunnel Junctions, Phys. Rev. B 58 (1998) 54. 2. P. Lyu et al, Temperature Dependence of Tunneling Magnetoresistance in Manganite Tunnel Junctions, Phys. Rev. B 60 (1999) 4235. 3. P. Lyu et al, Spin-Polarized Intergrain Tunneling Model for Low-Field Magnetoresistance in Polycrystalline Manganites, J. Magn. Magn. Mater. 202 (1999) 405. 4. P. Lyu and K. Moon, Tunneling Magnetoresistance in Diluted Magnetic Semiconductor Tunnel Junctions, Phys. Rev. B 64 (2001) 035201. 5. P. Lyu and K. Moon, Ferromagnetism in Diluted Magnetic Semiconductor Quantum Dot Arrays, in preparation. In addition, I have been familiar with the typical many-body techniques, for example, Green's functions methods and quantum-field theoretical techniques, and also I have some numerical experience. Thank you very much for your consideration and your time on this matter. Best wishes, Pin Lyu ===================== Present Address: Department of Physics Yonsei University Seoul 120-749, Korea Email: pinlyu@phya.yonsei.ac.kr ================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conference Announcements: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scientific News: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Famous Visitors: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% --------------------------------------------------------------------------- END NEWS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
