The Munich string group is split between the Arnold Sommerfeld Center for Theoretical Physics (ASC) at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität and the Max-Planck-Institute for Physics located in the north of Munich. There is however a close interaction with common seminars and joint collaborations.
[more] The Munich String Theory group works on several problems in String Theory and its relation to the Standard Model of Particle Physics, to (Topological) Quantum Field Theories, to gauge theories, to gravity and to cosmology.
[more] During the semester, there are the Research Seminar Fields and Strings taking place at the Arnold Sommerfeld Center and the Lunch Seminar alternating between the ASC and the Max-Planck-Institute for Physics.
